ABOUT

ABOUT

Academic performance

2023. Completed an MA in Social Justice Journalism with distinction at the London College of Communication, during which time I was awarded for my commitment to inclusive reporting. My Final Major Project looks into grassroots activism across the city, spanning stories of fine dining for the unhoused, queer safe spaces, and decolonising English gardens.

In partnership with LCC and the Journalism Refugee Project, I worked on the Food Crisis magazine, investigating Ukrainians’ relationship with food in the face of war. I also contributed poetry to the feminist zine Seven Lively Sins produced by MA Publishing.

2022. Graduated with a first-class BA (Hons) Journalism degree from Kingston University. Awarded Undergraduate of the Year and The Journalism Award “in recognition of outstanding academic performance throughout the course”, receiving the highest GPA among the year group.

l held the role of News Editor when The River was shortlisted for ‘Best Publication’ at the Student Publication Awards. At this time, I also worked as an academic mentor for year-1 students. Since graduating, I have held guest lectures in news gathering and InDesign.

Projects

Co-founding the online youth culture publication ITSNUET.COM involved the handling of interns, submitters, brands, and events since 2015. In 2017, the platform extended to NUET WEAR.

Other projects include organising environmental activism via Grønn Ungdom and spreading awareness about the Middle East conflict and raising funds for Palestinean refugee camps as a PIS board member at Stavanger Cathedral School from 2017-2019.

Since 2020, I have been a member of Storybox Collective, an interdisciplinary group of artists, designers, and writers working with archival research. Exhibited at the William Morris Society in 2020 and a two-installment exhibit at Glyndebourne Opera House in 2022/23. Another exhibition is in the works (details still under wraps), launching in early 2025.

Work

My interests include long-form and print journalism with an emphasis on social issues, especially those affecting women and queer people. Over the years, I have also found myself drawn to themes relating to the politics of soil - whether that means the protection of Indigenous land, London’s renting crisis, disappearing lesbian clubs, or the policing of art on public land.

Notably, my current work is driven by a strong interest in how technology can drive social change. Since 2019, I have been a part of the communications team at the conscious tech company BOLDER, working towards a more ethical digital future. Now, working as a Communications Manager, my responsibilities revolve around producing content, brand-building and funding.

In 2023, I also worked for the grassroots organisation Skills Enterprise, focusing on social media management and content production to promote their fight for digital inclusion across one of London’s most deprived boroughs.

Previous journalistic experience includes freelance writing for local news outlet Aftenbladet’s culture section and an internship at DIVA Magazine, as well as writing for Jacobin.
